Tokoro-san no Mamoru mo Semeru mo

Also know as: 所さんのまもるもせめるも

Armed with a water pistol with a finite supply of water, Toroko-san must make his way across Tokyo in order to save a baby. Tokoro-San no Mamorumo Semerumo (所さんのまもるもせめるも? lit. Mr. Tokoro's Protect and Attack) is a side scrolling action game developed by Epic Sony Records for the Famicom in 1987 which features Haga "George" Tokoro as the game's main protagonist. Tokoro-san is a Japanese actor/comedian and entertainment personality. He has been hired to do voice-over acting for notable American characters such as Alf and Homer Simpson, among others. Despite featuring such a notable personality, this game is generally considered to be quite unbalanced and difficult to play. Tokoro-san's only means of defense is a water pistol. While it never quite completely runs out of water, the water ammunition depletes rather quickly. When the water meter (shown below Tokoro's life meter) runs out, the water pistol will still squirt water, but it will barely shoot more than a few pixels in front of him. Health refills and water refills are hidden inside walls and extremely hard to come by. Some bosses can damage Tokoro without even touching him, and the doors which lead to the next stage can send the player to one of two places at random, so you have very little control over how the game progresses until you make it to the half-way point in the game, after which the game proceeds linearly.
