The player controls Jerry, who must navigate several levels of a house to rescue his ward Tuffy from a cage in the attic, where Tom has locked him. The game is divided into five worlds set in different locations of the house, with three stages each. After working his way through each obstacle-ridden stage, Jerry and Tom face off in a fight at the end of each world (resulting in five fights in total). Jerry has an unlimited supply of marbles to throw at enemies, although he can also use limited weapons including a hammer, bubble gum, a drill, and a cleaver, amongst others. These enemies are unique and challenging; they will respawn almost immediately after they are killed, once the screen has scrolled into a new area. The game has a total of five soundtracks, all of which were arranged by Geoff Folin, based on Scott Bradley's compositions for the original Hanna-Barbera shorts.
