Once the game has started, the player must meet with the King to be assigned the mission of resurrecting the World Tree. The game begins with the task of reaching the town of Forepaw, where three springs must be opened to supply pure water to the nearby towns. This adventure can be described as advancing through the "roots" of the World Tree: the maps are tightly enclosed and adorned with shades of brown and green, in addition to the presence of water not found elsewhere in the game. The player must then venture to the towns of Mascon and Victim to obtain magical powers and eliminate the creatures blocking the exits from these areas. This adventure can be described as traversing the "trunk" of the World Tree: the maps are much more enclosed, and all spaces are covered. Progress through the scenarios proceeds vertically, upward, with few lateral connections. The tones of the scenarios are dark, with an abundance of red and dark brown. The air in the scenarios even seems stale. After clearing the paths, you must go and find a magical armor suit in the town of Daybreak. You must also revisit some previous locations to obtain special items. This adventure can be described as exploring the "branches" of the World Tree: the maps are more open, with many corridors and side connections, although all are composed of closed channels. Greenish hues abound, and a blue sky can be seen surrounding the environments. Finally, after recovering the last pieces of the magical armor, you must confront the Goblin King to end the threat.
