Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time
A furry bobcat-like creature known as Ratchet is on a mission to find his diminutive robotic friend, Clank, in this 3D action adventure game. As players guide Ratchet through colorful alien worlds, they can pick up an assortment of outlandish weapons, including "Buzz Blades," "Groovitron Gloves," over-sized rifles, and "cartoony" rocket launchers. Players use these weapons to attack numerous robots and aliens throughout the game. Combat frequently results in robot enemies exploding into bursts of orange light, but more often, into nuts and bolts. Some alien creatures leave a greenish splatter on the ground when hit. One weapon, a type of "sonic disruptor," uses a creature's belching talents to inflict damage. The game's combat can be frenetic—loud explosions are constant; however, the bright, "cartoony" art-style, the whimsical tone (e.g., A villain attended anger management class—again—, then "went on a spirit walk to Planet Quantos.") are rarely lost on the player.
