Years after Dr. Robotnik chained the mysterious Little Planet to the world and attempted to use its Time Stones for conquest, a forgotten time travel post mysteriously appears in Sunset Hill Zone. While most dismiss it as a relic or illusion, a few believe it signals future trouble. Sonic the Hedgehog, bored and nostalgic, investigates rumors tied to past battles with Robotnik. While running through the zone and lost in thought, Sonic unknowingly surpasses the speed needed to activate the time post. Before he can react, he's transported through time, vanishing in a flash of light—leaving behind only a spinning signpost and silence.
