We've all seen the beginning of Green Hill Zone Act 1 countless times over the years. Perhaps one could even say you've got every last detail of those first few seconds of Sonic 1's iconic opening stage memorized. Well then, you shouldn't have trouble spotting anything that doesn't belong, right? The rules are straightforward: - Don't overlook anything unusual - If you find an anomaly, turn left immediately - If you find no anomalies, continue to the right - Exit through a normal Green Hill Zone Act 8 This hack (which took about a month to complete) was directly inspired by the Japanese indie game The Exit 8 by Kotake Create. I was fascinated by its simple premise yet surprisingly engaging gameplay loop (pun intended), and wanted to try my hand at making a Sonic rendition of it. However, due to the more colorful nature of Sonic, this hack leans a lot more into absurd/entertaining rather than horror/creepy. Still, I hope you enjoy it! Note: If the ambient soundscape annoys you, pause the game to toggle it in the pause menu (although I recommend keeping it on for the atmosphere).
