During your Cornish hiking holiday you will find yourself in Padstow during the Hobby Horse celebrations. These take place on May 1 when the warhorse dances through the crowd clinging to watching spectators. After the celebrations, you engage in conversation with an old Cornish couple in one of the taverns. When you inform them of your interest in legends and folklore, they begin to mention the local legend of a witch named Vianna who lived on the coast between Padstow and Bude, further north.
