Final Fantasy Tactics - The Lion War (TLW) 2.0 QOL is a prominent, community-created quality-of-life (QOL) patch built specifically for The Lion War 2.0 mod on the PlayStation 1 (PSX). Created primarily by modder Xifanie, version 1.13b (and its immediate successors like 1.14b) bundles an array of optional Assembly (ASM) hacks into a single .ppf file. It is designed to strip away the most tedious, RNG-heavy elements of the original game while preserving vanilla gameplay balance. Key Features of the QOL Hack The patch drastically improves the user experience during combat, exploration, and party management Smart Encounters: Random battles only trigger if you actively stop on green map dots, preventing accidental ambushes while traveling across the world map. Permadeath Terminator: Prevents your favorite characters from permanently crystalizing or turning into treasure chests immediately. Instead, they enter a state where they are retained but cannot be revived mid-battle, giving you a safety net. 100% Rare Move-Find Items: Restricts the "Treasure Hunter" (Move-Find Item) ability strictly to player units and guarantees you always dig up the rare item variation, completely removing the need to reset for hidden loot. Extended Warranty: Any items stolen or broken by enemy units are automatically returned to your inventory after the battle. Additionally, equipment shattered by Samurai "Draw Out" abilities can be repaired at the Fur Shop (Poachers' Den). Zodiac Compatibility Highlighting: Holding the Square button over a unit during battle reveals their direct zodiac compatibility with others using color-coded highlights, removing the need for manual mental math. Convenience Enhancements: Adds a Cancel Movement function if you miss click a tile. Speeds up text scroll speeds by holding down the X button. Maintains a 50% chance to fetch rare poached items. Defaults the main menu options to "Continue" instead of accidentally starting a "New Game".
