Amy Rose in Sonic the Hedgehog (also known as Amy in Sonic 1) is the first entry in a series of Amy‑themed ROM hacks for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. This character‑swap hack replaces Sonic with Amy Rose, using spritework adapted from Sonic CD that reflects her classic, pre‑Sonic Adventure design. The hack introduces special moves tailored to Amy such as hammer‑based attacks and unique movement options while preserving the original Sonic 1 level layouts. Developed by E‑122‑Psi with additional programming support from community contributors including MarkeyJester, Aquaslash, Selbi, and Hayate, the project later inspired sequels like Amy Rose in Sonic 2 and Amy Rose in Sonic 3 & Amy Rose.
