Dragon Rider
Dragon Rider is a 1-player arcade game for the BBC Micro. Deep within their clifftop lair, the player anxiously awaits the onslaught of the alien wyrms. Beside the player rests their ancient and noble dragon steed. Suddenly the alarm rings out. The player chooses from 1–5 dragons per game. The dragon is armed with a laser lance that uses limited energy, has unlimited range, but can only destroy one wyrm at a time. The second weapon is the dragon's fiery breath, which can kill a number of worms at a time, but has a limited range and uses a large amount of energy. The goal is to prevent the wyrms from reaching the bottom of the screen, where they destroy anything they hit. If the player is hit by the wyrm, the player takes damage, and too much damage the dragon loses a life. The dragon replenishes their energy by feeding on the magenta firestones positioned on the valley floor. The dragon skin color reflects its current energy level.
