Pokemon Crystal Advance Redux

Also know as: Pokémon Crystal Advance Redux | Pokémon - Crystal Advance Redux | Pokemon - Crystal Advance Redux

Pokémon Crystal Advance Redux is a continuation and major expansion of earlier Johto remakes built on the Pokémon FireRed engine. The project originates from Pokémon Liquid Crystal by LinkAndZelda (Zeikku), which was later transformed into Pokémon Crystal Advance by Kertra. Crystal Advance Redux builds on that work and expands it significantly with new mechanics, modern Pokémon features, and extensive quality-of-life improvements. Rather than being a strict one-to-one recreation of Pokémon Crystal, the game aims to capture the spirit of the Johto adventure while enhancing it with modern gameplay systems. Many original events remain largely faithful to the original Crystal experience, but new areas, gameplay systems, and mechanical changes have been introduced. The hack retains the visual style of a classic GBA Pokémon game while implementing features inspired by later generations, including Fairy typing, Hidden Grottos, expanded Pokémon availability, and following Pokémon for every species. It also incorporates technical improvements such as faster battle speeds, higher quality Pokémon cries, and compatibility testing on real GBA hardware. In many ways, the project can be viewed as a hybrid: part Crystal remake, part HeartGold/SoulSilver demake, and part gameplay overhaul.
