Initial D Arcade Stage Zero is a 2017 arcade racing game based on the Initial D series. It is the ninth and final game in the Initial D Arcade Stage series. It is the first Initial D Arcade machine to support Sega's Aime cards, replacing the previously used metallic cards. Zero featured many changes to the series formula, such as the introduction of a 6-speed H-shifter (the series had previously used a sequential shifter). Character designs were updated, with new stylized designs created for characters not originally featured. The background music was taken from the Legends trilogy, replacing the series staple Eurobeat with J-rock (although several Eurobeat songs were later added). Cutscenes and dialogue were completely omitted, and rain conditions are also not featured. Online services for the game were closed on December 1st 2021, 9 months after the release of Initial D The Arcade. Players who created their saves before 28th July 2021 were eligible for the continue benefit for Initial D The Arcade. The benefits included a full tune car ticket for each car fully tuned, otherwise 5000 credits, a title based on the player's level, Dress up tokens, avatar tokens and Initial D Arcade Stage Zero themed clothes based on the player's mileage.
