Have you gone back and tried playing Goldeneye 007 with friends to relive that awesome multiplayer experience to be brutally let down by how horribly it’s aged? Goldeneye X lives up to your rose-tinted vision of the deathmatch game that Goldeneye was, adding a large amount of options for play including the ability to choose every weapon that spawns in a match. Along with adding all of the customization that Goldeneye’s successor Perfect Dark supplied, Goldeneye X also improves on visuals while at the same time increasing framerate performance. Then there are the little details such as blood splatters, the ability to save all of your playing preferences and match setups to a memory pak, mixing and matching character models, and the full Goldeneye OST audible during matches or to enjoy to in the sound test. I’ve played this hack with friends on an N64 using a flash cart and we had hours of fun. This is the best N64 hack to date and a must play for Goldeneye and Perfect Dark fans.
